Steve Dang (born May 29, 1994) better known by his stage name Yung Swiss, is a Cameroonian born South African recording artist, rapper, singer, songwriter and musician from Rosettenville, Johannesburg.
In 2015, Swiss released his first single with South African rap sensation Reason, titled 'I LOVE IT' which made its debut on South Africa's leading youth radio station, YFM. It also aired on other popular leading radio stations such as 5FM. The 'I love it' music video debuted on MTV BASE AFRICA
His rise to fame started with the release of his smash hit single, DAVID GENARO, which became an anthem amongst urban youth in the country and even went on to become a theme song for one of South Africa’s most watched local soapies, RHYTHM CITY.
Late 2016 Yung Swiss dropped his debut EP titled BOTTOM BABY. The project received over 20,000 plus downloads on Slikour On Life alone and featured a star studded line up including, Nadia Nakai, Astryd Brown, K.O & Cameroon’s Stanley Enow.
The lead single THE HIGH was a crowd favourite.
The High is an infectious and catchy record built for the summer but tailor made to any season. The High Music Video lives up to its name with psychedelic scenes, a super trippy club atmosphere filled with smoke, confetti and pretty women. It follows Swiss in a club with his leading lady who's played by label mate Astryd Brown vibing and all he wants to know is if she's ready for the High.
Unfaltering, Yung Swiss has released hit after hit and is responsible for some of the most recognised song hooks in the country such as the hook on DJ Speedsta’s MAYO track and the hook on DJ Vigilante's MARY JANE track.
Mid 2017 Yung Swiss dropped two tracks for his birthday DON’T GO THERE feat FRANK CASINO & FOR THE NATION.
Although Yung Swiss takes the lead in the country as the best trapper, his versatility as an artist has enabled him to create hit tracks outside of the “trap” genre such as JUNGLE featuring K.O, which is still on high rotation on radio stations such as YFM, Metro FM to name a few.
MTV BASE named Yung Swiss the number one trap artist in South Africa. In response to this he dropped I MIGHT, a celebratory nod to his fans the #XikwembuNation for all the support and a reminder as to why he was selected for the top spot!
He was also named by MTV Base earlier this year as one of their Top African Acts to Watch Out For In 2017
Yung Swiss & J Molley have finally put out their first collaborative effort called COLD.
Cold is a hard hitting melodic trap ballad, that perfectly blends the styles of Yung Swiss & J Molley.
To close off his 2017 Yung Swiss dropped his 1st Official Single JANET, for his upcoming album set for release in 2018.
Janet is a bouncy, kwaito infused record with a new school touch. The record is another test to Yung Swiss’ versatility; a guaranteed summer smash that will definitely keep you on the dance floor all night!
